Vampyr (1932)

Carl Theodor Dreyer's VAMPYR is a beautiful example of surrealism and a typical Euro response to the horror film Dracula, made by American director Browning. In fact, Dreyer admitted watching Browning's film and mixing up his own visions, ideas and improvements in his version - VAMPYR. His remarkable masterpiece stands as "one of the best and most influential vampire movies ever made" that has made a huge impact on European genre cinematography and even more differentiate views on movie-making in Europe and in America.

In the years to come, artistic vision and sensibility toward story-telling emphasized Euro directors' abstraction with a unique style and approach, especially in genre movies, or especially in vampire themed horrors where sexual energy gets potent and romantically stylized with a recognizable note of perversion. Today, this remarkable piece of cinema history has fallen in Public Domain and it's available to download and promote worldwide.
