Tough mercenary master of martial arts Terry is hired by Yakuza (japanese mafia) to kidnap important business magnates' daughter. Terry has its price, and Yakuzas refuse his exorbitant amount of money so they try to kill him to conceal their secret plans, and Terry promptly offers his services to protect her.

The Street Fighter (激突！殺人拳, Gekitotsu! Satsujin Ken?), or literally translated as Clash, Killer Fist!, is a Japanese cult movie produced by Toei Company Ltd. In the US it was released by New Line Cinema and became commercial success for the distributor.

It inspired two sequels Return of The Street Fighter and The Street Fighter's Last Revenge. Sister Street Fighter is a spin-off of the movie.

The film received mainstream exposure in 1993 when featured in Tony Scott's True Romance (screenplay by Quentin Tarantino). Two lead characters spend most of the time with a Sonny Chiba's Street Fighter marathon.
