Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street [1936]

Sweeney Todd is a barber who provides fillings for local meat pie maker. Armed with charm and a set of sharp blades, Sweeny traps wealthy rich customers into his Fleet Street barber shop, where he activate mechanical chair which dumps them into the basement. best parts end up in meat pies.

Wonderfully crafted classic horror story with excellent acting, especially by Tod Slaughter in the main role. Mush ahead of its time with a grotesque social commentary of hard-knock life and economic depressions. Tim Burton made huge hommage with his remake and helped this movie get back its audience.
